Prominent Food sites


India is the world's seventh largest country with the population of millions along with different style of language. In every state, there are plentiful food exploring sites for the tourists. As Indians are already called as foodies because they have plethora of food varieties in their menu of food. The method of preparation as well as the raw stuff used to make Indian dishes are significantly differ from the others. Food is not only taken for taste but also to socialize and express feelings with each other by the Indian people.



A large number of renowned restaurants are being developed in India offering luxurious facilities with elegant decor and staff. Some of these are Farzi Cafe in Delhi where the stuff is sold at reasonable prices as compare to the other market restaurants and is specialized in the way of serving the eatables with extra butter.

Villa 39 situated in Colaba (Mumbai) is famous for its interiors for the couples with soft music, dim lights and excellent South-Indian dishes and Italian cuisines.

Thalassa in Goa is the restaurant built on the rock cliffs with the beautiful view of sea and clouds and heaving the astonishing wooden furniture with lightening of electrical tree leaves shaped bulbs. The most well-known preparations are rich cheese cakes and yogurt smoothies.     

Italia in The Park Hotel located in Chennai is eminent for its two main dishes: Risotto and Roasted Chicken and are also called as the mouth-watering items of this restaurant. Almost all of the tourists visiting Chennai go here for having the pleasure of these foods.

By taking in account the other states, they too have such amazing food spots for travelers with their own specialty, history and cuisines.

Spices, Ingredients and Flavors


India have a grand treasure about the history of the spices, other ingredients and cuisines of food. There is wide variety available in India in terms of ingredients and natural spices such as black pepper, cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon sticks etcetera. This ample variety plays a significant role in dynamic cuisines of India. Indian food is made by putting whole palette of flavors. Basically, there are 25 to 30 spices being commonly found in almost every dish of India. Every spice has its own specific role and taste in the food with their particular benefits to the human body.


Due to the multidimensional country, the food in India is sub divided into parts with reference to the regions like North-Indian cuisines, South-Indian cuisines, West-Indian cuisines and East-Indian cuisines. In Northern India the spices and flavors are tending to be less spicy as comparative to the Southern India. Vegetarian food is preferred by large number of Northern Indian whereas Southern people like to have non-vegetarian dishes. In Eastern India, people eat mostly steamed and fried food such as vegetable filled wontons, a clear soup and many other. Sweets are called as the king of the food markets of East India. The people of West India are vegetarian on large number with Hindu religion and carries most diverse food styles of the country. Ingredients like sugar, nuts, vinegar and coconut are very common to find there.




The culture is also responsible for the variations in the spices, ingredients and cuisines in the regions of India and could turn one meal into the meal of another region with little differences only. It is due the heavy influence of religions, cultural practices and the history of India.

Travel for Street Food



In India, the love for street food can be seen from past years till know. Most of the states such as Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Jaipur are famous for the large variety of street food . When i was 12 years old ,I went to a family trip to Delhi . I saw that there are thousands with cheap prices and delicious taste. The food of Delhi like Kebabs and Aloo Tikka comes under the must 'try' option to complete culinary tourism. These street foods are not only popular among the natives of India but also are appreciated by the foreign tourists and celebrities too. 

Delhi offers the tourists the Northern cuisines of India. Delhi is specialized  for its most well-known wrap containing eggs with kebabs and vegetables. Many of the eminent chefs have contributed in re-making this wrap roll by adding their own recipes. There are some places which are remembered for the food being offered their to the culinary tourists such as South Delhi, Chandni Chownk and Connaught Place.

A food traveler will always get wide range of knowledge and satisfaction after visiting Delhi culinary tour. An excursion to Delhi without tasting street as well as other rich variety foods is incomplete. Beginning from the old traditional restaurants, Delhi has developed many contemporary food sites too for the tourists and the residential people of Delhi. There are number of famous dining restaurants in Delhi like Modern Indian Cuisine: Indian Accent, South Indian Cuisine: Dakshin. Many big celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan visit these luxurious hotels.

 Punjab: A propitious Culinary destination


India is the country which offers plethora of choices in food for the domestic as well as foreign tourists in its every state. Punjab can be manifestly called as one of the gastronomy excursions for tourists. Foodscape of Punjab is very popular among the travelers. Lifestyle and agriculture both play a very significant role in building the local cuisines. For the culinary travelers, numerous Dhabas and Havelis (domestic hotels) are being opened in Punjab. 


Sarso ka saag (Mustard greens) and Maki ki roti (flat corn bread) represents Punjab. Nowadays, there are number of sites in Punjab for the food travelers to look for such as Amritsar (home of the iconic Golden Temple) is famous for its Kulchas. The industrial city of Punjab (Ludhiana) is having a vast number of hotel and cafe offers for the food lovers that serves different cuisines from different parts of the world such as Chinese, Italian and Mexican. The capital of Punjab (Chandigarh: the city of gardens) is having first class food sites like Barbeque Nation, The Great Bars and many more which serves the best quality of food with rainbow of both domestic and international flavors.
 


With the pace of time the trend of culinary tourism is getting to flourish more and more in Punjab due to the richness of spices in the region. Apart from this, the land of Punjab is the most ideal for the production of wheat and rice that is why it is called as India's bread-basket.

What is Culinary Tourism?


Tourism is something which exploits the people to the different parts of the particular nation by involving them into the culture of the region. The sector of travel and tourism is contributing a very great figure to the GDP growth of the country. People love to travel from very earlier times for experiencing the diverse range of traditions, beliefs and food.
                                         
When the tourism meets food, the traveling becomes more adventures and interesting as one gets to know about the different cuisines and flavors. In this modern era, the number of travelers for the purpose of food is growing at alarming rate.  India is the most multi-dimensional country in the world having a variety in almost every aspect including food, shelter, clothes, religion and customs. There is no single dish which can be taken in account for representing the country (India).


In India, the food is the first thing being preferred by the people by visiting to the new sites in the country. Moreover, it is the well
-known perception about among tourists that the food of India is extremely spicy and tasty. The aroma of Indian food is very unique as compared to the others. India also serves different eating habits for as according to the regions(states). For instance: In Kerala, one of the famous states of India presents the leaves of banana for serving food.
